Job Description

Short N Sweet Bakery & Cafe in Hilo, HI is looking for one barista/cashier to join our team. We are located at 1263 Kilauea Avenue Unit 280. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, reliable, and engaging.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers as they enter
• Take customer orders
• Prepare beverages following recipes (coffee, espresso beverages, homemade lemonade, and tea)
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep work areas clean and sanitized
• Maintain stock of display cases and retail shelves
• Describing menu items and suggesting products to customers
• Packaging food and beverages for sale
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls
• Arrive on time to shift, ready to work as scheduled
• Take customer phone calls
• Complete tasks in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience is preferred but not required
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• A happy, friendly personality
• Attention-to-detail
• Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work
• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to measure desserts and cut to specified sizes accurately
• Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable transportation (the local bus system is not reliable)
• Must be vaccinated for Covid-19
